DRAMA AUSTRALIA NATIONAL CONFERENCE : DELVE 2012
9 - 11 MARCH, 2012 at SOUTHBANK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, SOUTH BRISBANE
Drama Queensland invites the Drama Australia and international Drama community to join us in Queensland as we Delve in 2012. Delve is about discovery, it is about digging deeper and exploring the richness that is at the core of what we do. As we delve, we take our thinking to a different level. By delving we can explore innovative curriculum, examine new ideas and research, create new understandings of shifting paradigms, engage in pedagogical change and delve into our imaginations for the creativity to inspire ourselves, our peers and our students.
The Delve 2012 conference program is a rich, diverse and exciting one. With our wide range of keynotes, workshops, forums, papers, masterclasses, performances, launches and even a debate, Delve 2012 delegates will be able to shape their own conference experience and delve deeply into their practice in a variety of ways. Delegates will have the opportunity to choose from up to 60 different sessions to tailor their conference experience to their own professional needs.

New Resource 'Outside the Square'
A new senior secondary drama resource 'Outside the Square' produced by Drama Education consultant Melissa Newton-Turner in partnership with Drama Queensland and the companion play text 'The Pink Twins' by Sue Rider are now available to order from Drama Queensland.

DQ Response To The Draft Shape of The Australian Curriculum: The Arts
It is a very busy time of year for all of us, with marking, reporting and all those comments to write! However, it is really important to take 20 minutes to visit the ACARA online survey to provide imperative feedback on the Draft Shape Paper of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts. Every response counts!
To assist you and your school in providing feedback, Drama Queensland has created a detailed response to the Draft Shape of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts. Through discussions and a variety of meetings with drama educators both locally and nationally, Drama Queensland has arrived at our response. In addition is the Drama Australia response and a brief one page overview of the strengths and issues of the Draft Shape Paper.

Drama Queensland Feedback for the Draft Shape of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts To access the Draft Shape Paper and to provide feedback through the online survey visit http://www.acara.edu.au/arts.html The deadline to provide feedback to ACARA is December 17.
The draft Shape Paper outlines the direction for the development of the national Arts curriculum for years K-12, and following a 10 week national consultation period, all feedback will be analysed and used to revise the draft document before it is published as the Shape of the Australian Curriculum: The Arts. We hope you will find the Drama Queensland and Drama Australia responses useful in providing your own feedback to ACARA.
Queensland Arts Education Forum
The Queensland Arts Education Forum was held on 16th October 2010, hosted by ATOM Qld, ASME Qld, Ausdance Qld, Drama Qld, PAN and QATA.
John O’Toole, Honorary Professorial Fellow and Foundation Chair of Arts Education – University of Melbourne, and, ACARA Lead writer for the Arts provided an overview of the draft paper. A panel of experts who have been instrumental in the forming of the Shape Paper discussed the paper further and answered questions from Arts educators.
