Community
DRAMA QUEENSLAND provides a supportive community for drama educators and those linked to the industry.
By providing a number of Professional Development events throughout the year DRAMA QUEENSLAND enables its community to share their ideas and resources and also network other community members. This includes the Nuts and Bolts Professional Development event which is designed to support beginning teachers and enable them to make links with other beginning teachers and gain knowledge from experienced drama educators and industry members.
Both the general E-group and the primary specific E-group also allow the DRAMA QUEENSLAND community to connect to their peers across the state, nationally and internationally, to discuss drama education and share ideas.
As a supportive community it is imperative for DRAMA QUEENSLAND to bring together its members from across the state at their Professional Development events. Therefore regional grants are on offer to support members who live outside the metropolitan area to attend Professional Development events. The Robin Thomas Bursary for Beginning Teachers is another way in which teachers who are new to the profession can apply for funding to attend Professional Development events and network with their peers.
