Membership to Drama Queensland provides:

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Access to a variety of workshops, seminars and conferences designed to meet the needs of drama educators. Link

E-NEWSLETTERS: Quarterly e-newsletters sent to your nominated email address with current information on drama teaching including book and theatre reviews, syllabus trends, curriculum updates and committee reports. Link

E-BULLETINS: Monthly e-bulletins sent to your nominated email address with up-to-date information on industry, curriculum and employment news. Link

DRAMA QUEENSLAND JOURNAL: Two Copies of the Drama Queensland Journal – Drama Queensland Says - full of practical teaching ideas, resource materials, and research. Link

DRAMA QUEENSLAND WEBSITE: Keep up with the latest Drama Queensland news, members only access to great curriculum resources for drama teachers and a shop for texts, DVDs and many other great things to use in the classroom. Links to resources and shop

DRAMA QUEENSLAND E-GROUP (General and Primary Specific): This email facility enables you to correspond with many other Drama Queensland members, seek advice on drama education and generally share ideas and dialogue. It is a great way to keep in contact with other Drama Queensland members especially if you are in a remote part of Queensland or are the only drama teacher in your school. Link

ADVOCACY: Drama Queensland makes regular representations and submissions to government departments and cultural organisations, including the Arts Alliance to advocate for the place of drama in education.

DRAMA CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT: Drama Queensland has been involved in the writing of, liaison with and has bee consulted in the writing of past syllabi and the Essential Learnings. Drama Qeensland activly seeks knowledge and participation in the development of new curriculum involving The Arts and Drama specifically in order to keep their members updated and in the moment.

MEMBERSHIP AND LINKS TO INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL DRAMA IN EDUCATION ORGANISATIONS: Drama Queensland members are automatically affiliated with the International and National drama and arts organisations, IDEA, DRAMA AUSTRALIA and NAAE (see below). Drama Queensland members can receive national and international perspectives through two Drama Australia research journals.

1. ADEM, a magazine of current classroom practices.

2. NJ, the latest national and international trends in drama teaching and research. (By subscription).

• International Drama and Education Association (IDEA) now has a membership of over 40 countries.

• The Australian parent body to Drama Queensland is Drama Australia, the National Association of Drama Education.

• Drama Australia is also an affiliate of the National Affiliation of Arts Educators (NAAE).
